I get notifications every week about orphaned files.
no idea what these are, but dont want them.
can I switch off the notification?

Check your connection in Status and Interface settings window.

These shouldn't happen, it's usually a sign that something is wrong with the setup.
For example virusscanner that prevent the correct removal of temporary files, or the Temporary Download folder being used by other programs.
Do you get errors about saving failed etc?
