It seems you already have other software running on port 8080?
On what system are you trying to install it?
Have you restarted the device you have installed it on?

It's a Firefox setting. See first hit on Google: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1083282

Easy way: use another browser (Chrome, IE, Edge, Safari) to access the URL (which is http://127.0.0.1:8080/sabnzbd/ )

Hi. Thanks for the replies and the help. sander, I tried doing what you said but no luck, it still comes up port blocked. I will have to think about doing away with Firefox.

What says "port blocked"? And is that the exact message?

I think the first time I got "port blocked" but now I get
This address is restricted

This address uses a network port which is normally used for purposes other than Web browsing. Firefox has canceled the request for your protection.

Hope this helps

I adviced you to use another browser (Chrome, IE, Edge, Safari), so why do give the Firefox error message?

Sorry but I thought that advice was for if I could not sort it out on Firefox as in the link you posted.

This page can’t be displayed

•Make sure the web address http://127.0.0.1:119 is correct.
•Look for the page with your search engine.

Why are you using port 119?
That's really weird and shouldn't be used. It should be much higher, these port numbers are usually reserved for system(-like) services.

Hi
Thanks for the reply. I should explain that not only am I a newbie but I am also an oldie.
Some time ago I tried to install Sab and I had the same problem so I took it upon myself to change the port because Firefox would not let Sab operate on 8080.
Although I uninstalled Sab at the time it must have left the wrong port number in, so when I try to reinstall, it keeps going to port 119.
As they say "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing" I will get a friend to change the port number for me. Although I have read on how to do it I don't have the confidence to do it.
I will let you know how I get on.

My install uses port 8085, den like that for years no issues. If that helps.

On Windows 119 shouldn't be an issue.
However, do check your AntiVirus or other "Security-suite", those can be nasty for software that runs a web-server.

Hi
Just to let you know my problem has been sorted. I would love to tell you how but all I know is my friend spent about 3 hours trying to sort it and he had to alter a couple of bits in the registry.
I have reinstalled Firefox and all is running fine.
Many many thanks for your help
