Saving postproc queue

Post by pven »

I just had to kill sabnzbd since it was hanging during a unpack and I could not find the beloning unrar or par2. After starting it I get:

Code: Select all

And the list keeps on growing . Too bad sabnzbd is waiting for this, so I am not getting the webpage to see what is going on.

What can I do to fix this?

Only way to kill a par2 is either us the button inside the web interface (need to use Glitter skin, there's a stop icon on every active row). Or kill the unrar/par2 process via task manager, but you mentioned it was missing.

About killing a job: I have the same problem again.

Sabnzbd shows 'Direct Unpack: Completed' but the animating icon let me believe it is still doing something. When I check for unrar or par2 processes there are not processes running for this file (for others there are, but I assume that is due to direct unpack).

Now I can click the abort-button, but I am quite sure it won't do anything.

Before I kill/restart/whatever sabnzbd, is there anything else I can do?

No in that case there isn't. You'll need to just kill Sab.
Was this a job that you Retried?

Any logs that you have off that (DirectUnpack hanging), would be great if you could send me the whole log at [email protected]
Never been able to pinpoint why it keeps hanging at random moments :)

+1 from me - also having this issue. Nothing in the log for the last few hours, so I can't really help there. It's almost as if when the problem started, nothing else in the log was recording (aside form new downloads being added to the "waiting to be processed" queue). Tried everything I could think of, including:

- restart sab
- shut down sab from UI (didn't work)
- abort file being processed (didn't work)
- move original files to another location (didn't help)
- attempt to kill unrar or par 3 processes (didn't exist)

Finally just killed sab from task manager and restarted it manually, but now I can't even access the UI. I'll try rebooting the server to see if that fixes anything, but have to wait for a time when no one is using it.

Rebooting the PC seems to have fixed it for me. It was like the RAR verification got stuck. Weird.

Some new light shed on this, as it seems to have happened a second time in one night. I had to kill the process from task manager again - as using the shutdown option in sab didn't work (again). This time, I opted to open sab in safe mode and it immediately started unpacking the file it had been stuck on.

Unusual? Food for thought?

More over - the shutdown function appears to still NOT work in safe mode. Even if I kill the process via task manager again and attempt run sab normally (not safe mode), it remembers the previous configuration from being started with safe mode and will ONLY run it using the normal host and port (127.0.0.1:8080).

Of course, this all stems from the OP's issue: where a post processing item gets "stuck" - without any clear indication or error message.

Lastly - I'm pretty sure I've never seen any executables in task manager called "PAR2" or "UNRAR" as mentioned on the issues page. Looks like th eonly related executable running is "Command line RAR."

Steps to fix OP issue:
1) End sab via task manager.
2) Start sab using safe mode.
** item stuck in queue begins processing **
3) Update sab with custom host, port and login credentials, use UI to restart after changes.

It seems somehow UnRar is stuck, maybe a virusscanner is blocking it? Or other monitor/firewall/network/etc software?
