Post downloads as smallest possible parts

I've got a post that downloads as the parts that get posted on usenet, i.e. they don't get combined to the rar part files but stay in the small parts as they are posted on usenet. They are named part.xxx and all are 1231 KB in size. This is true for the rar parts as well as the par files.

I tried another usenet client, same result, so this is probably the poster's fault. However, this is a rare piece I cannot find elsewhere and since the download fully completes with all these small parts present, I'd hoped to manually combine these so I could possibly rescue the files.

When I open the files I see them begin with this

begin 644
and then the filename and the bytes listed.

Perhaps this is why it fails, no idea why the poster would at this or if this is normal.

Is rescue possible? Can I use Sabnzbd for this somehow, if not, can you recommend a tool that can do this? Is this UUencode or another form of binary to ascii encoding? I'm not very knowledgeable on this subject as you can guess.

Sorry for late reply, I was on vacation.

Can you send me the NZB at [email protected] and I can take a look!

Do we know if UUencode support will be returned? all the .mid files in a.b.sounds.midi are uuencoded.

Due to it's complexity and rarety it's not likely to return soon..

Appreciated. But why wouldn't it be here soon?
It can be made a lot more simpler right?

The flow for regular posts (yEnc) is made as optimal as possible for performance.
To add this extra flow for UUencode adds lots of extra complexity.
