Need help with obfuscated file name and extension

Post by mcbain35 »

Hi All,
I have downloaded a files in the past and have letter and numbers as the file name but the extension was 001 or other. I had not issue with this as I could simply use Winrar to merge the 100+ files into 1, then rename.

Now I am seeing that the file extensions are also obfuscated... so I have a file like this..
0ae862fbb64bb49e81ba8422d281ad5.d50

where the file name and extension is different for each file. If I open the file with WinRAR I can clearly see the name of the *.mkv but am unable to unrar as I need to start from the initial 001 file...

I have read many posts but they all deal with the file name and not the extension.
I downloaded a large 56 Gb movie with SABnzbd, I did not see any Par or other files in the completed folder, there are no errors that I can see, only 303 files of 195,313 KB each.....

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Did you run "deobfuscate.py" as postprocessing script?

@sanderjo that doesn't work for this case.

We can only fix things if they include information for us how to fix these names. If no par2 information is included, how can we verify the names and files inside a download?
This is usually a mistake of the indexers that wasn't able to add the par2 files to the NZB. If any information is available, like par2 or sfv files, we will use it.
