Doesn't work on Mac OS X

Post by heyholetsgo »

i guys.
I'm successfully using SABNZB on my virtual PC under XP.
Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work on my main OS- MAC X 10.5
I always get 2009-08-07 01:10:02,789 ERROR [newswrapper] Failed to connect: (61, 'Connection refused') [email protected]:119
The settings are exactly the same as under Win XP.(Different folders of course..)

THX for help!

I just checked news.xenews.com:119 (without SABnzbd).
It does not work at all.
I think you are using the wrong server name or port,
or there's something wrong with the server.

I'm 100% sure that the servers work(just tested it on my virtual server with SABnzb) and that all the data is correct.
Why would the program download under XP but not with Macx?

news.xenews.com port 119 does not respond.

Either you posted the wrong servername here, and have it right on your side, or it only allows certain ip ranges to connect to it.

As I'm European, that might be the case.
The Server data is 100% correct, I run the programm on my virtual machine just fine...
So any suggestions what might be the problem?

I'm in Europe and the server you specified refuses any connection (tested on XP).
In fact, the xenews.com address is for sale from a domain squatter.

The problem is that you're not 100% correct, despite what you say.

The correct server name is:
news.xennews.com

See the difference?

You had news.xenews.com - it needs to be news.xennews.com

Hope someone can help me. I'm experiencing 'data missing from server' type messages, I've recently signed up to Giganews and seem to be unable to successfully download any files on the 'home' page either by specifying a 'report-id' or 'adding a file' with sabnzbd+ 0.4.11 without dozens of errors ending with the following:-

'missing from all servers, discarding'
'missing from all servers, discarding'
'missing from all servers, discarding'

I've checked all my settings with another giganews/sabnzbd+ user and they appear to be the same, only my colleague is able to download successfully but he is using port 443.

Many thanks,

How old does SABnzbd say that the files are?
Giganews has a high retention time, but still limited.
