Https problems

Post by aevans0001 »

So I used to have https enabled and working (so I think). It was allowing em to send things from certain websites directly to sab and i could log into my account on a web browser locally at my house, without getting the certificate warning. Im not exactly sure how I achieved this or why I can not duplicate it now.

It worked great, but I tried to load version 3 of Sonarr, but it could never see sab. So i posted ont heir forums and it was suggested the cert was not valid. So I started messing with things.

Here is what I followed the info from the wiki . I currently have a google drive for business so I may have a domain, but I don't think i have ever ran apache.

I want to use HTTPS so that I can get certain websites to send info directly to SABnzbd and also so that I Sonarr can send nzb from 1 computer to another to download, I would also like to load sonarr v3 which requires a good cert.

That's a lot of stuff still need to be fixed in the middle.
If you have the right certificate file from your Google drive, you can just load them up in SABnzbd in Config > General > Enabled Advanced settings.
It will serve the certificate, which will work if called from the right domain.
But you did that before?
Sorry for slow reply, I was on vacation.

How do I get the cert from google drive?

Basically I just need a valid cert so that I can use HTTPS, for the safety?

Lets act like I am starting new if that would be more helpful.

Hmm, it's a bit tricky and I'm no expert really. All I know is that you'll need to somehow link your SABnzbd to be at https://yourdomain.com and then let SABnzbd serve the right certificate.
The internet might be of more help than me! Never did it myself, just know that SABnzbd can serve the certificates but it still needs to be accessed in the right way for those certs to work.
