Revised server configuration

Post by weybrew+ »

I have just discovered that my old modem is no longer sufficient to handle my ISP's upgraded service and I will need to upgrade my modem. The Netgear model that suits my minimal needs shows a DOCISS 3,0 and 8 x 4 channel bonding. Do I need to adjust my UsenetServer setting to match up, i.e. this router looks to be able to handle 8 download speeds and the UsenetServer configuration calls for 55?

Those things are not that closely related.
Best is to just try what works fastest. The less connections you use, the less cpu power is wasted checking the open connections. Often with 20 connections you can get up to 40MB/s or so. The newsservers like to advertise with all these connections, but rarely do you need even more than half of them. That why sabnzbd defaults to 8 :)
