Hello, can I please have some advice.

Post by jusdownloadin42 »

I recently reinstalled my OS and the accompanying apps. I'm having some significant issues with my Sabnzbd downloader running slowly. It seems to be running at 2-5kb/sec mostly, but will very rarely go up to 1-2mb/sec. I have also noticed frequent "lost connection to Sabnzbd messages that clear themselves up very quickly.
Here is what I have tried so far.

I followed the walk through for set up to determine if I made a mistake setting things up. It looks like everything is programmed to run as it has in the past when I was getting faster downloads up to 80 mb/sec.
I used a test packet and was able to get speeds of up to 8mb/sec
I tested my ISP speed against several different servers and the results are ping 2-17, down 450-650, up 300-600.
I also increased my connections to usenet servers to 20 from 8.
I have 2 usenet servers with unlimited accounts.

Based on these results, I am thinking the slowdown has something to do with the way the NZB files are being handled in Sabnzbd.

Does anyone have some thoughts on other things I could try?
-Thank you in advance.

In SABnzbd's upper right corner, click on the wrench symbol ("Status and interface options"), then click on first tab Status, and there click on "Test download" 100MB or 1000MB.

What is the result?

the test downloads are downloading faster. The downloads are slow only when I download from one of the usenet servers.

I do not have the "check before download" option selected. I'm using 2 different usenet servers and I have tried alternating their priorities. The post processing runs very slowly as well.

the test downloads are downloading faster.
What speed?
The downloads are slow only when I download from one of the usenet servers.
The test download is also "from one of the usenet servers."; It is a real download. Of a post that will not DMCA'ed

The 1000mb test download speed is 65mb/s.

Other NZB files are between 0-5mb/s. they still download but at a very slow rate.

would a DMCA'ed post cause that? is there a setting I can change to search for better posts?

It seems to have fixed itself. The majority of files are now downloading at the expected speed.

Thank your for helping me brainstorm sander,
