Ive been running sabnzbd successfully for a few months on my whatbox, but now it doesnt download anything. App works, authenticates fine, even connection tests work, just nothing downloads anymore. I have uninstalled and reinstalled python and sabnzbd so many times, to no avail.
Theres got to be one setting off, but i cant figure out for the life of me what it is. Whatbox support says since app opens and runs, nothing they can do, but send me here for additional support..
Anyone running this kind of setup? Maybe can screen share or give you access to the account to take a look at whats going on?

Checks you should do:


SABnzbd: Config -> Server -> Test Server
SABnzbd: In SABnzbd's upper right corner, click on the wrench symbol ("Status and interface options"), then click on first tab Status, and there click on "Test download" 1GB ... what is the result?
In SABnzbd's upper right corner, click on the wrench symbol ("Status and interface options"), click on Refresh symbol ... what is the Internet speed?

the tests for System Performance, Download folder speed, Complete folder speed, and internet bandwidth all work fine.
Internet Bandwidth says 74.8MB/s (598.4 Mbps)
But the Test DOWNLOADS do NOT, they just sits in the queue saying "trying to fetch"

Hmmm ... "interesting" ...

On your PC, can you get and save https://sabnzbd.org/tests/test_download_1000MB.nzb
... and upload that NZB to your SAB instance on your whatbox/seedbox ?

What happens?

downloaded file, added the queue.. just sits in queue, nothing triggers

your first "question" seems to be "click on "Test download" 1GB ... what is the result?".. It goes into the queue and doesnt budge/start to download
all other test results give back good results

using astraweb, get "connection successful" message in green when pressing Test Server

OK, good, then we can proceed. Reasons SABnzbd is not downloading (with all underlying stuff working): SAB is Paused, because of

* SABnzbd is paused by the pause/play-button in the upper left corner
* SABnzbd is paused because there is not enough disk space
* SABnzbd is paused because of a scheduled pause (so time-based, see Schedule)
* SABnzbd is paused because there is no working Newsserver (check with Server -> Test Server)
* SABnzbd is paused because all individual downloads are paused
* SABnzbd is paused because a category (Config -> Categories) is set to priority Paused

you have Tracebacks like

FileNotFoundError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/home/<USERNAME>/SABnzbd/interfaces/Glitter/templates/queue.tmpl'

That means a bad install of SABnzbd.

Can you remove SABnzbd and the queue Downloads/incomplete
Then reinstall SABnzbd, and try again.

I have done the removal and reinstalls many times, to no avail.
On my seedbox, I completely deleted the SABNZBD folder, the .sabnzbd hidden folder, and the virtualenv3 folder. Reinstalled all from scratch. Always comes back with the same test file stuck in the queue, its got to be holding a file installed somewhere else that I need to remove.

But still the same (non-downoading) file in the queue. So you have not really removed all SABnzbd settings. Did you stop SABnzbd before deleting the directories?

it will not shutdown properly by pressing the shutdown button
