SABnzbd gui blocked in Waterfox after update

Post by donderdag »

Hi, after updating to Waterfox 2021.04.1 on Windows 10, the GUI of SABnzbd (last stable version) is being blocked at https://127.0.0.1:8080/sabnzbd

A notification in Waterfox says: "This address has limited access. This address uses a network port that is normally used for purposes other than web browsing. Waterfox canceled the application to protect you"

Is there a workaround?

Find a way to add an exception. Sab didn't change, it's the browser that changed to block this. The port stayed the same, always 8080. Technically you could change the Sab port to 80, but that might interfere with other software on your system.

I did not want to blame Sab; I know it's the Waterfox update that caused it. I hoped for a workaround, but it seems unlikely I can add an exeption, since a Google search on that give no results for that. It seems I'm not allone in this problem though: https://www.waterfox.net/blog/waterfox-2021.04-release/
