I will create a Debug version to find the source of the problem.
Maybe you can try an older version, such as 2.2.1 or 2.1.0:

No need to uninstall first. Indeed working is better than new features!

At this point is it likely ok to use my original ini incase I have missed something?

Original ini should work with older version.

Ok, so I went back to 2.2.0 and now when I start SAB it will start downloading at my max speed then drop a few KB/s slowly until it is sitting at zero and won't download anymore but doesn't close. If I restart SAB the same thing happens again. Takes about 30 seconds or so to drop to 0 and stop downloading.

Sounds like the decoder or assembler is being crashed.
Again, please try https://sabnzbd.org/wiki/faq#freshstart
So that we can know if it's setting specific.

Is there any setting I can try changing first? I have access to sab through my DDNS at work. I can use teamviewer to do the fresh start but it will take quite a bit more time. I haven't changed any settings recently that I can recall

I don't really have a solution for the speed-drop, it might just all be related.

I have created a special debug-version which can give me the information I need:
Shutdown SABnzbd
Download "SABnzbd-2.3.1-win64-bin.zip" from: https://github.com/sabnzbd/sabbuild/rel ... /test-dec1
Unpack, and then just start SABnzbd.exe in that folder.
Now it will probably crash, but before that happened it will have saved debug files in your Temporary Download folder.
Could you go into your Temporary Download folder and then in the folder of the active download, go into the __ADMIN__ folder.
There should be 1 or 2 files with long weird filenames like d21f3f35-6768-493d-82d9-f1d10017c12c that are 1-2MB in size.
Could you send those to me at [email protected]?

I just restarted SAB again and it started downloading and hasn't stopped. still on 2.2.0. idk if that helps anything or changes you wanting me to run the debug version

If you could try the Debug version, that would be great. You only need to run it once or twice to get these files for me, then you can go back to 2.2.0. The version I described above doesn't need any installation, so can just keep your working 2.2.0 version (no need to uninstall), while running the Debug version once or twice.

Yup it failed immediately 3 times. I'll send you the files and reference this thread somehow so you know it is me.

I should also note that 2.2.0 was sitting at 0KB/s this morning again, but started working after I restarted it twice

Thanks, I'll just keep monitoring 2.2.0 in the meantime and restarting it when necessary. I just keep a tab open on my work computer in it's own window so I always see the speed in my taskbar
