SPEED IMPROVEMENT - Downloading on NAS through NUC

Post by Heera »

Hi there,

I want to improved my transfer/post process speed of radarr/sonarr. All my container running on a NUC and Plex on NAS.

So I m wondering, if I put my downloading folder of SAB on the NAS, Will my downloading speed be limited to the ethernet connection between the NUC and NAS?

Because I am able to download at 35-40 mb/s but i m worried if I do that my downloading speed will drop down to 10mb/S as it is the max speed between my NUC and NAS when I copy a file over.

I guess I ll found out by myself but just want confirmation on this thought??

A NAS will not improve your download speed
Often NASes are a bottleneck.

Speediest setup with a NAS: download to your local disk (in your NUC), so both Temp/Incomplete and Final/Complete on your local disk, and use post-process script to copy the download to your NAS.
