I would also enable Date sorting with the same settings then.
I have considered moving all Sorters into 1 mega sorter that can do all, exactly because of your use case.

The date sorter doesn't cater for that scenario either. The majority of my use case is TV and Movies, so it shouldn't impact me too greatly in the short term. I'll keep an eye on which direction you decide to go to see if it will work for me in the future.

hi im stuck on version 3.3.1 untill this issue is resolved, can anyone confirm if the latest version is working yet?

It's working, at least as far as I know.
Why not update?

i downgraded to 3.3.1 because files were ending up in a sub folder. theres been a few updates since then so i thought id ask before breaking my setup

im on version 3.5.3 and i cant get %dn.%ext to output a proper filename. on version 3.3.1 it works fine.

just wanted to add that my series sorting is perfect. my sonarr catagory is left untouched for sonarr to do its own thing, i have a tv catagory for any shows i choose to download outside of sonarr, all episodes are perfectly downloaded into series/show/season/episodes all renamed perfectly fine...

the problem is with the movie sorting, i use %dn.%ext to get a single file at the root directory without sub folders, perfectly renamed. version 3.3.1 does this fine.

id really like to use the latest version but i cant, please help

enable the movie sorter with your category selected with %dn.%ext as your sort string, download a test file with the category and enjoy the obfuscated file names.

it is blatantly not working.

thank you, in the meantime is there a way to make the movie sorter give me a nofolder/jobname.mkv output? the ui suggests that it should be working, but its not
