SABnzbd not launching

Post by klontje »

Hi,

I just upgraded my Sabnzbd installation from 0.3.0 to 0.3.1. Since this time Sab won't launch anymore if I use sabnzbd.exe. However, if I use SABnzbd-console.exe it does launch. Underneath is the error found in the log. I already tried rebooting, other port numbers, reinstalling and I checked with netstat and the port is free for usage. Also turned off virusscan and firewall (ESET) that didn't help either. System is a Core2Duo with 2 GB ram and Windows Vista. Also tried putting the deamon to my external IP with the --server command but problems keeps the same.

Error:

2008-02-17 21:38:04,891::ERROR::Failed to start web-interface

The new SABnzbd.exe is totally invisible, so you may have thought it didn't launch when in fact it did.

Ctrl+alt+del, go to Processes and make sure no SABnzbd.exe or SABnzbd-console.exe is open.
Then launch SABnzbd.exe and navigate to http://localhost:8080/sabnzbd/ or wherever you have it pointed to in your config.

Yeah, I already checked that, and it is not running. Otherwise it would also be visible in netstat and as mentioned before it isn't.

What operating system are you using?
Can you find a failed startup in your logs?
Logs will be in "%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\sabnzbd\logs\"

I'm sorry, but all the things you're asking are already in my first post...

I'm using Windows Vista
Yes, I pasted the error found in my first post
And yes I got that from the log file found in the location as posted before.

I already found the problem. Although I disabled my firewall (Eset SmartSecurity) it still kept blocking it. Because after an uninstall of ESET it works again. Better find another firewall. Thanks for the help anyway!

Comodo is a fine and free firewall (we tested it in combination with SABnzbd).

The standard windows frewall is also very good and easy for blocking connections from outside to inside.
