I'm pretty sure it's not a permissions issue - I tried the same .nzb file in Usenet Explorer without a hitch.

Re: Another Failed Traceback Error
Server problems tend to be transient.
Trying later and succeeding with another program does not prove a problem with SAbnzbd.
Have you tried again with SABnzbd and the same server?
Is the problem persistent?

Re: Another Failed Traceback Error
The problem is persistent, I had it all of last night. I first installed sabnzbd yesterday, it worked for a while using the same server (and it also worked ok with an ssll newsserver and stunnel), but then it mysteriously stopped working. I tried again today, same result. nzb files work fine (with same server settings) in both Alt.Binz and Usenet Explorer... should I try uninstalling/reinstalling?
Edit: uninstalled, did temp file®istry clean+reset, reinstalled, same result... any ideas?

Re: Another Failed Traceback Error
Could you email the sabnzbd.ini file to [email protected] and the sabnzbd.log file ?
Don't forget to remove username and password of your Usenet account from the INI file.

Re: Another Failed Traceback Error
Does your password contain any unusual characters? Such as non a-z or 0-9 characters?
While you are removing your username+password from your ini file to send to shypike, check if the username and password are correct, and also not all upper-case.

Re: Another Failed Traceback Error
No unusual characters in my passwords, all are combinations of letters and numerals, a-z and 0-9. one of my passwords has an upper-case character, in the other two sets of passwords all the letters in the passwords are lower case. Not sure if this is relevant, but the "My Documents" folder, with the sabnzbd temp directory and complete directory, is set to another drive on my computer, so the path looks like "L:\[my name]\INCOMINGCOMPLETE". HTH & thanks.
Re: Another Failed Traceback Error
The password does not contain a '#' sign?
The INI file code cannot handle '#', it thinks it's a comment character, spaces may be a problem too.
The moved user dir is not a problem, I have a similar setup.
There's nothing wrong in your INI file.
The logfile does not contain any clues either. Only thing I can think of now is that your password is somehow
incompatible with SAbnzbd. But apart from '#' and accented characters (like é),I know of no problems.

Re: Another Failed Traceback Error
it was a password issue; I'm an idiot (had to change my usenet provider subscription to another class of subscription, it had become obsolete, and I forgot to change the passwords in my password manager). All fixed now.
