There's no such thing as "actual" download speed.
NNTP traffic is jumpy by nature.
The only reliable figure we can give is an average.
The side effect is an average that slowly dwindles to 0 when downloading is ready.
Some cosmetic fix would be possible, maybe swi-tch can fix it.
