The Return of setup.py

Post by rullzer »

I would really like you guyz to include the setup.py again in the package. So it can be installed in a generic place on linux platforms again. Plus that it can then really run as a deamon on startup and all with generic scripts.

Thanks in advance,

When I look at the svn I see the set-up.py , so you could use that one

https://sabnzbdplus.svn.sourceforge.net ... zbd-0.3.0/

Setup.py is not made to install SABnzbd as a Python module.
We use it internally to prepare the distribution packages.

Actually I wonder why people want to install SABnzbd as a Python module, it's not meant to be one.
There is work going on to make SABnzbd into a Debian package, it will install as seperate application.

Next release will have an old-style setup.py again.
(BTW: Setup.py in all previous releases was broken).
