Pause individual post

Post by leopard96 »

Would it be easy to add the option to pause individual posts in the queue?  I think this could come in handy at times.

why would you wnat to pause 1 post ?

What I do now is just send it to the end of the queue , as I guess one day you  would want to have it downloaded

Id like this feature too
Being able to have posts in the queue, but not download them would be a great help

Think of it as an schedueler
I have 7 posts in my queue
I cant finish all 7 posts before family members come home and want to use the internet but cant because Im hogging the line (then they start bitching at me)
But I can finish the 3 posts before they get home
- So I set the last 4 posts to pause/ignore

Another example
I have 3 posts in my queue
Im headed for dinner and want to play online on my console afterwards
I can finish 1 post while at dinner
- So I set the last 2 posts to pause/ignore

Its more of a dynamic scheduele

Please? :D

And I dont like the full NZB management suite idea :P I already have NZB-TV running besides SABnzbd - I wish it was a all-in-one package ^^
SABnzbd with NZB-TV fully implemented *drool*

Bandwidth shaping on application level is
1) a lot of work (for us)
2) always disappointing.

Personally, I have instructed my hardware router to see NNTP traffic as low priority.
Never had a complaint from my family members after that (and still get maximum speed most of the time).

If you have a single PC, use one of the specialized bandwidth shapers, like NetLimiter 2.

I tried setting up QoS on my Buffalo router with Tomato firmware - to my understanding you can only fully control your upload ?

Ill look into what Tomato is capable of..
Back on topic :P
Such a feature, which would just ignore a post in the queue cant be too hard to implement, can it? :D

I used Ninan for a while before I discovered Sab.  Ninan had this feature and I found myself using it quite a bit if nothing else to put off downloading an item while not wanting to forget about it.  I guess I could just download the NZB and store it somewhere until I'm ready but that one-click is just to convenient.  ;D
