Addon to enable web-less API-only newznab sites

Hi,

We have all these addons that do very very specific things. What about a general addon that gives a list/search/category/dl-link UI to the new bread of newznab sites that are going http-free. They are only accessible via the API.

Thoughts? Devs?

If there's no web interface, how do you run manual searches? How would you expect end users to interact with them?

For things like Sickbeard integration, that should Just Work, and SABnzbd by extension should have no problem using NZBs sourced that way. Are you asking us to additionally build a frontend for these API-only sites, and build it into SABnzbd?

Searching can be done thru the API and should would not be limited to just one category. A lot the current set of Addons are limited to function on just one category.

There is no reason that an API-only frontend would need to be integrated into SABnzbd. In fact, I would kind of discourage that as there might be a small possibility that it put the project at risk. But an addon, all category/genreral API-only project, that would be very interesting.

Ok, so you don't need SABnzbd to do anything, you need to get somebody to make *another* third party addon to work with these.

Before that gets rolling you're going to need at least one public example of this for developers to work against.

Hi,

SABMobile can interact with any newznab indexer through the API, without any HTML interface... Isn't that a good "third party addon" ?

Nice!!! I like it. Keep them coming. I'd love to see a web app that can be used on a non-mobile phone interface.
