Hi the app is great, but the Growl notifications are practically useless (at least for me).

They don't specify what is downloading, or what is being added to the queue. They really need to say the name of the file which is being, or going to be downloaded.

Hope this is something you can get round to looking at.

Thanks.

The growl notifications available are :

- Add a new nzb by opening with SABnzbdX (not when you add via webinterface)
- Status change between 2 refresh for each configured host
-> Not Started : if no response from SABnzbd
-> Idle : if no items in queue
-> Downloading : if items in queue
-> Paused : if API paused state is true

SABnzbdX doesn't "remember" what's in queue, each time a refresh is made, all queue items are reloaded.
In case of a completed download or if you manually remove an nzb via webinterface, i cannot make difference between.

Hope it helps to understand how it works.

Does SABnzbdX only connect to SABnzbd instances running on OS X?  I tried connecting this to an instance running on a Windows box, it seems to connect and pause my downloads, but doesn't seem to display the actual download speed etc.  The API keys etc are all fine.

SABnzbdX works with any SABnzbd.
If you are using 0.5.0 Alpha 5 it's normal, there is a bug on json api output.

0.5 is already supported but the 0.5.0Alpha5 have a bug in json output, you'll have to wait for next alpha or use trunk (if you're using OSX app look at here this)

Hmmm... It seems I'm doing something wrong. When I start SABnzbdX (and with it SABnzbd - confirmed in my browser) I don't get any info in the menu. It keeps saying that SABnzbd is not started, so I got no option to Open SABnzbd and nothing shows up in the Queue Items menu.
Running Snow Leopard, Intel MacBook Pro.
Preferences seem all OK: same host as in browser, same username/pw, same API key...

Anything familiar?
Thanks!

Are you using SABnzbdX to monitor a remote or a local SABnzbd ?
Does the port is filled in host:port field ?

Try to :
- quit SABnzbdX
- remove this file : /Users//Library/Preferences/org.sabnzbd.team.plist
- restart SABnzbdX and reconfigure your preferences

Hope it helps

i ahve the same problem. I cannot monitor a remote sabnzbd installation on my WHS server. I can reach it by browser but X can't find it or says it's not started. I tried the killing of the .plist file with no luck.

Can you send me by pm your sabnbzd.ini and your /Users//Library/Preferences/org.sabnzbd.team.plist please ?
(don't forget to remove your usenet server login/pass)

Nope, doesn't help  :( I'm using SABnzbdX to monitor a local SABnzbd. Tried every combination of preferences in sync with the config of SABnzbd via the browser. I'll send you the ini-file and plist-file by PM...
Thanks a million for looking into this!
