Re: [iOS] Qouch for SABnzbd, CouchPotato & Sick Beard

Post by Walleye »

Forgive the noob question. I'm just simply wanting to be able to browse newzbin.com site in ios Safari, find what I want, download it using my iPad and get it to download on my mac mini which is running sabnzb+

I can connect qouch to the mac mini easily enough and can see existing items in the queue.

In qouch, I figure I should add an NZB by URL. Normally I'd do this via a newzbin URL to the report page (e.g. http://www.newzbin.com/browse/post/6478287/)

However as newzbin is password protected, when qouch tries to fetch the data it fails.

What am I doing wrong? I don't seem to be able to find where to enter the feeds for my newzbin account.

Probably obvious and I'm just bing an idiot, but any help would be fab ???

I still cannot connect to CouchPotato, I just get the "...username or password incorrect" but it obviously is correct. Does anyone else have any issues with this?

Couch potato works for me.

Any plans on adding the headphones app to Qouch?

Great app, love it so far!

I notice my suggestion didn't make it into today's update in the App Store.

Is it likely to ever make it in?

Original text below.

Many thanks, keep it up!

"Great app, but could you implement 2 things:

1) When pausing the SAB queue, allow setting a pause interval (10 mins, 30 mins, 2 hours, etc, or even just type in your own number); I hate pausing it full stop cos I always forget to unpause it later!

2) Could we have a "friendly name" field for each server? I run SAB, Sick and Couch on 2 machines (separately) in my house, using the same static IP addy but different ports. In Qouch, both servers show in the list as just the same IP addy, making it confusing when trying to know which one to select!

Thanks, great job!"

Not a noob question at all, and to answer it; password protected NZB sites will only work when implemented directly into Qouch itself. It's a feature that is high on my list, I hope to have some search engines integrated into the next version.
One thing you might try though is DJBenson's suggestion. That might also work for NZB URL's, but I understand it's not really user friendly.

True, they're not in the current version, that's because it was already almost done when you did your suggestions. But they will definitely be added to the list! I just can't tell you yet when I will implement them yet as the list of requested issues is quite long already. ;)

Thanks for all the people helping others out with their problems! It's much appreciated!

For all the people that haven't noticed it yet, v1.2.0 appeared in the app store yesterday and contains a lot of bug fixes and better Sick Beard integration. I hope you all like it!

Thanks a lot. Could you please make my suggestion highest priority for no other reason than I asked nicely? lol

Great app by the way, keep up the good work!

Is "proper" reverse proxy integration on the horizon? Although I have a workaround, sending my login details plaintext is not so good lol

I'd also like to echo calls for Headphones integration, you'd have the single most feature rich Python download client on iDevices (probably also of any platform).

Keep up the great work.

Not sure if you need/want beta testers but Test Pilot is a great way to handle betas on ios devices and I'll throw my hand up of you need a hand - already on the beta panel for a couple of other iOS apps so more than happy to help out.

I might call for help through test pilot while the app grows more feature rich over time, and harder to test by just me.
Headphones is currently not built to be integrated into Qouch as it does not supply an API. I'm currently not using an API for the CouchPotato integration and it makes the app more heavyweight than it has to be when an API is available. For CouchPotato this issue is soon solved with the release of V2. But I'm not seeing anything happen soon in Headphones.

Regarding reverse proxy support, what do you mean by "proper"? It's now (since 1.2.0) possible to connect to reverse proxies without having to place your username and password into the URL if that's what you mean. :)
If you mean digest support, that might be implemented in the future if there are enough requests for it.

Ignore my comments about "proper" reverse proxy support, I had updated to 1.2.0 but hadn't tried adding the details without the username and password into the URL - I've just given it a whirl and can confirm that reverse proxy support with authentication on the proxy works as expected.

No worries about Headphones - I guess you are having an app that is the best at what it can do than having to implement a workaround/hack to add a feature that might drag the rest of the app down.

SAB and SB are pretty mature products now so hopefully the other two will follow suit and add things like API support so they can be integrated natively.

I am also having a problem getting into couchpotato. I get the message "Couchpotato connection failed. unknown error". I am able to get into CP using Safari on the same device however.

That's strange, did you try some different options, like leaving the path empty, or filling in your custom path if you have one?
Also make sure you're running the latest available version, as that is the one I'm always developing against. :)

Is HTTPS still not supported? If not, is there an update on an ETA? Just wondering since I just bought it and can't get it to connect to my HTTPS SAB server :)

SSL works absolutely fine here. Make sure the "Use SSL" switch is turned on and;
If you are using a reverse proxy, use your web servers SSL port (usually 443) or
If you are accessing SABnzbd directly, use the SSL port defined in SABnzbd's settings.

One I've been waiting for for a LONG time.

5-Stars if I can search the NZB sites (NZBMatrix, nzbs.org)
I agree with this. I wish it could search nzbs.org, then it would be perfect :)

Weird, if I toggle "Enable HTTPS" in SAB then reboot, then toggle the "Use SSL" in Qouch, the connection times out. Without SSL and HTTPS, it connects fine. Oh well.
