In need of a script

Hello there,

I'm looking for a script on a windows instalation that copy's directorys based on the first 3 characters in the directory name.

I know that the directory name is used in the standard %3 variable bu i dont know how to read and compare the only first three caracters.

I save my movies with a indication in the first three letters.

I hope someone can help me.
