MKV2M4V is a nifty app, but I've found iFlicks which is better suited to this task. It tags, re-muxes and adds a stereo AAC track if able, or re-converts if needed. Perfecto.

Within minutes I had it up and running and already fairly automated with a couple of simple folder actions.

Randy,

I have been using your script for the last 5 months without a problem. The other day i did an update to 10.7.4 and now the script does not work. I see you are suggesting using another application.

I downloaded iFlicks and have started encoding some of the stuff that didnt encode before. How would I automate this process now? You said you have it fairly automated with a couple folder actions. Could you elaborate?

Thanks
Dan

I'll put something up shortly, I'm just getting my feet wet with it now.

The nice thing about iFlicks is that it will do a re-mux if it's possible, and re-cencode if necessary.

Basically what I'm doing is using folder actions to move the MKV's into a folder that I have the iFlicks import folder action on, so movies and TV shows get processed, moved into a folder and processed by iFlicks.

Pretty slick really. I'll probably create a script so that iFlicks will tag my Formula 1, MotoGP and WRC shows properly as they don't have data in thetvdb.

iVI Pro is very capable too, not nearly as pretty as iFlicks but very capable.

I'll play with both.

@randyharris

Not sure if you are still monitoring this thread but in case you are, can you tell us whether anyone has attempted to modify your script to work in Windows? All of this sounds exactly like what I need, except that my current Sickbeard and SAB+ server is Windows based.
