I upgraded to the latest version. My previous version was several years old and I remember setting up wathed folders, log folder and maybe other folders on a usb flash drive connected to my QNAP NAS.
Is that still necessary with the latest version? If yes, then how do I ensure spin down?
Thank you
will sabnzb prevent spindown of my NAS?

Re: will sabnzb prevent spindown of my NAS?
I have set Watched Folder Scan Speed at 0 - will that disable the folder scan?
Are there other things to disable or move to USB?
What about password file? I can see that it used to be on my usb but I don't see how that would prevent spinn down? I assume that passwrd file will only be accessed when a downoad job is finished, right?

Re: will sabnzb prevent spindown of my NAS?
In the Scheduler you set a pause-all event.
Only that will set SABnzbd to the absolute minimum activity.
It's only available in the Scheduler.

Thanks - but won't that disable downloads?
Is it not possible to move all activity to the usb?
How about a selctable feature that enables the "pause-all" event if there are no current downloads? That would be great!

If you're not connected to the interface and you're not downloading to the disk, SAB won't access it and it will spin down.

okay, so you are sure that it won't access Watched Folder or log folder etc if there is no current download (and the web interface is not open)?
If that is true - how would it discover if I put a nzb file in the watched folder? Or would I still need to set that setting to zero - "0"

Thank for the help so far
ok, so I just need to disable the watched folder, and then sabnzbd will completely "shutdown" when a download job is finished? No log writing or .nzb or password check?
