Extremely slow repair

Post by Sprite1 »

System specs
Dual E5-2660 (16 core, 32 threads)
64gb RAM
Windows Server 2016
SABnzbd 1.2.2

It took 3 hours to repair a 1.5gb file, I turned on multicore using -t+ for the extra parameters, when repairing my CPUs are both at 100% usage. Once repaired, unraring is very fast. Any ideas why repair is so slow?

On Windows you should just leave the extra par2 parameters field empty and make sure to have Multicore par2 turned on.
Do you run as a service?

Windows Server does not like SABnzbd (or probably python programs in general).

I had the par2 parameters field empty and it was still very slow. I unchecked Enable MultiCore Par2 and repairs are a lot faster now. I am not running SABnzbd as a service.
