What it says in the title.
I’m confused. I was under the impression that when articles are missing there need to be par2 files to repair the incomplete file set for it to finally become a complete download.
How come I’m missing 1 article, have no par repair files yet sabnzbd still shows the download as completed and moved the file to finished? How can I be sure that file is indeed complete despite the missing article?
Missing articles, no PAR sets, Download still completed

Re: Missing articles, no PAR sets, Download still completed
You are overlooking the obvious: these nzbs contain more articles than just the ones needed to complete the download. Probably the result of an indexer adding fake articles as a means of tracking "leaks".

Re: Missing articles, no PAR sets, Download still completed
There's stuff like that? Ah well, I don't really care why as long as the files are complete.
How reliable is the download and assembly part of sabnzbd? can I be confident the files are complete if they show complete and finished and are moved to the finished downloads folder?
The whole process is not transparent enough for me. Even with the logs.
Newsleecher marks corrupt or incomplete files and par2 through multipar shows me exactly what is broken and how it is being fixed.

Do you maybe have disabled "Post-process only verified job" in Config > Switches?
Otherwise the missing article will indeed fail the job.

Re: Missing articles, no PAR sets, Download still completed
grüezi,
no, it's not disabled.
also, I verified that the check sums for the sabnzbd download was the same as for the download of the same content (another distribution and different packing).
This to me means, the sabnzbd download was indeed completed correctly even though there were missing parts. I lean towards @jcfp explanation.
Just tell me the following: if the above mentioned post-process only verified jobs switch is on (ticked) and sabnzbd downloads, processes and moves a file to the completed folder, that file is indeed and certainly complete? even though the logs say there are missing parts and there are no par2 files to repair, I can assume if it's moved to the finished/completed folder, that file passed - for all intents and purposes - the completed download check?

Re: Missing articles, no PAR sets, Download still completed
We go past a number of checks: par2, sfv, rar-check.
But if it's for example only an MKV, we don't have a way to verify it's contents.
So in that case we just move it to complete folder.
