Certificate issue

Post by BoxTops »

I'm on unraid I got no idea how to fix this I can't seem to find anything that worked on Reddit

us.newsgroup.ninja uses an untrusted certificate [Certificate not valid. This is most probably a server issue.] -
I don't got a virus scanner and I don't know much on certificates i tried uninstalling and reinstalling the docker conrainter but that did not work also tried on my desktop and that did not work as well.

us.newsgroup.ninja is not a server nor a newsserver.

Use news.newsgroup.ninja

As that newsserver is correct (see https://www.appelboor.com/cgi-bin/check ... roup.ninja and https://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker. ... .ninja:563), the cause of your problem is:

1. your setup (unraid/OS) is missing the needed certificates
2. a/your firewall/virusscanner messing up the SSL/TLS/NNTPS
3. your ISP/government/neighbour spying your connection

I'll leave it to you to decide which is most likely.

Unraid forum. Keyword is probably "ca-certificates"

I went into logs of sab on unraid and its giving this error

2020-01-17 22:49:12,366::INFO::[newswrapper:243] Certificate error for host news-us.newsgroup.ninja: [SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED] certificate verify failed (_ssl.c:727)

I did update DNS and certificates under management access and that still hasn't solved the problem I'm going to see if downgrading os to the previous version will fix the issue

Did you reboot the system in between the certificate updates?
