I'm looking at getting a WRT54GL to install DD-WRT or Tomato on but wanted to see if anyone could recommend a router which I could run sabnzbd on? I know this isn't officially supported, but just wanted to see if anyone in the community had been sucessful with this or if anyone could point me in the right direction.
Thanks,

Re: SABnzbd+ on a Router?
If all the required software is available, it could be possible.
If you do not have enough memory (say 64M), the result will be disappointing.

Re: SABnzbd+ on a Router?
That's kinda what I was fearing, not enoug memory. Was looking at DD-WRT and it has all the available packages, and even a 2.5.1 sabnzbd package, but doesn't look like anything form the plus development. I'm now thinking it's something more nerdtastic than worthwhile, so I'll probably just go with tomato and keep sab on my pc.shypike wrote: If all the required software is available, it could be possible.

Re: SABnzbd+ on a Router?
I didn't know 0.2.5 was available for ddWRT.
The current version of SABnzbd uses actually less memory than 0.2.5
and we managed to cut it even further in the coming 0.5.0 release.
If so much is already available for ddWRT, I'd give it a try anyway.
Just make sure you don't use a memory-based article cache.

Re: SABnzbd+ on a Router?
Even if you solve the memory footprint problem, wouldn't SAB's need of a fairly decent processor to run par2 almost eliminate any router (unless you wanted 10 to 12 hour par2 rebuilds)?
Re: SABnzbd+ on a Router?
True.
However most of my downloads don't need repair.

Re: SABnzbd+ on a Router?
I've used sabnzbd+ on dd-wrt without really any problems. Look for "optware" in the dd-wrt wiki and a usb router would do the trick.

Re: SABnzbd+ on a Router?
I just orderd an Asus RT-N16. It has a 533mhz CPU, 128MB of ram, and 32MB of ROM. I'll likely be running Tomato USB on it. I am curious if anyone here is running this or similar setups with SABnzbd+?

Re: SABnzbd+ on a Router?
Has anyone been able to get Sabnzbd+ and Sickbeard working with optware? I have sabnzbd+ running great on my WD MyBookLive but I'm having trouble getting Sickbeard setup... any helpful tips would be appreciated.
