3.6.0 beta 6 and newer won't start (win64) - resolved

Post by bcpu »

When attempting to start any version of sabnzbd after 3.6.0 beta 5, I receive the error "Sorry, requires Python module PyWin32." This happens with the installer or portable 64-bit version. Using Windows 11, if that is relevant.

Edit: Resolved as noted in post below. Needed to remove old SABnzbd files.

Most likely your virusscanner has removed or quarantined some essential files during or after the installation.

Thanks for the fast response. I managed to fix it, unrelated to antivirus. Needed to remove my old sabnzbd files first.

I am sure I was causing my own problems at least partially, just overwriting old program files with the new ones from the portable version. Using the installer to the same directory did not "fix" the problem on its own as the same files were being left behind. With a clean directory everything seems to work as expected.
