Unrar takes ages

Post by Jabdah »

Hello,

at first sorry for my bad english.

Im using SABnzbd+ on my QNAP NAS with a Quad core CPU with 2GHz. No HDDs in use, only SSDs. The NAS ic connected with 2.5Gbit/sec to the Internet.

Download goes very quick and smooth, lemme say a " document " with 100GB of size is downloaded very quickly. But the unpacking takes ages. For the 100GB document around 28 minutes. The CPU of my NAS is almost in idle mode while unpacking, max 25% of usage.
If i turn on the unpack while downloading feature, the download speed is going down to around 35-40%
Is there anything i can do, optimize, tune and so on.?

I dont understand while the NAS is almost in idle mode while unpacking.

Any idea welcome

Yours Frank

In SABnzbd's upper right corner, click on the wrench symbol ("Status and interface options"), then click on first tab Status, and there click on the Refresh Arrow. Post the values of the lower part here.

The NAS' CPU performance is indeed quite low. But hey, it's a Celeron from 2013, so 10 years old, so quite understandably

119 MB/s? That's impressive with that CPU! Nice.

In the dropdown of that download, what is the Unpack time of the 10GB?

FWIW: On my (faster) Celeron, I have the below, but it looks like that I have Direct Unpack on.

Size10.3 GB
