All Downloads are failing [EOFError: Ran out of input]

Hello

All of my downloads have suddenly stopped working.
I am getting errors:

EOFError: Ran out of input

I thought it may have been a disk issue but I tested, and I do not think it is the case:

• All the tests look ok

• Torrent downloads to the same folder are ok

• Files are being written by sabnzbd to the downloads/incomplete folder so I dont think its a permissions issue

Relevant part of the logs:
I cant seem to post my logs due to being a new user, and some of the logs are being picked up as links

I suppose you saw that in your SABnzbd GUI too? Because "2023-03-02 08:29:17,948::INFO::[notifier:123] Sending notification: Error - Saving /downloads/incomplete-nzb/Outer.Banks.S02E01.720p.WEB.H264-GLHF/__ADMIN__/SABnzbd_nzf_ggh293q6 failed (type=error, job_cat=None)" ... so you must have seen that?



So big problems in /downloads/incomplete-nzb/Outer.Banks.S02E01.720p.WEB.H264-GLHF/

I would do this: Delete "Outer.Banks.S02E01.720p.WEB.H264-GLHF" from your Queue in SABnzbd GUI

If that does not work:

Stop sabnzbd
remove the directory /downloads/incomplete-nzb/Outer.Banks.S02E01.720p.WEB.H264-GLHF/
start sabnzbd

I did the following:
Stopped sabnbd completely.
Removed the incomplete-nzb folder completely
Restarted sabnbd
Re-added the nzb file
The same error occurs. I tried a few .nzb files

Still in your Queue. Not good.

What if you click the Garbage Can collector to the very right of your Outer.Banks download ?

Do not try other .nzb files before the error is gone.

Same thing.
I shut it down again, removed the incomplete folder, restarted.
The queue was empty I then tried to readd it same issue:

Why do you re-add it? Don't.

After the Queue is empty, is SAB stable and OK?
If so:

In SABnzbd's upper right corner, click on the wrench symbol ("Status and interface options"), then click on first tab Status, then click Test download 1GB.

Does that work?

Sorry I misunderstood you.
The test file also doesnt work, the same issue.

It was downloading to a network share, I switched it to the host ssd and its working now.

Any suggestions as to what may be causing it?
The share is a hetzner storage box (server is on a hetzner vps)
It was working flawless until today.
I know this a more general question and I really appreciate the help!

No. But one thing: keep "incomplete" on your local disk. Putting it on remote disks is asking for strange problems, like you experienced.

FWIW:

I've recreated a situation where you can write to a directory (and the file is there), but you cannot read the file back.

So that could be your cause, especially as you've mounted a share / directory ... about anything can happen.

I'll build a detection into SABnzbd (around https://github.com/sabnzbd/sabnzbd/blob ... m.py#L1273 ) so that at SAB startup it is detected and the user gets a warning.
