File Name Truncation

Post by rudnicke »

Hello. I'm running version 3.7.1 on a Synology NAS using DSM 7. After I upgraded everything, I noticed that SABNZB is truncating filenames again. Last time I had this issue, it was due to a switch labeled "enable_meta". When I turned it off, filenames were no longer truncated.

I am unable to find that switch under Config / Special. Did it get moved?

Thanks,
Brian Rudnicke

Interesting that disabling that option worked.
Can you give an example of a truncated filename?
And is the filename truncated, or the folder name?

Example of file after sorting:

Before Upgrade: <root>/NAS/The Rookie/Season 5/The Rookie - S0512 - Death Notice 1080p AMZN WEB-DL DDP5 1 H 264-NTB.mkv

After Upgrade: <root>/NAS/The Rookie/Season 5/The Rookie - S05E12 - Death Notice-.mkv

It seems to be taking all the extra info off the end of the file. It did the same thing a couple years ago as I mentioned earlier. It's handling the folder names just fine.

If I turn off sorting completely, I get the file labeled as it should be (the same as the nzb name), but not sorted into folders or spaced.

I don't think this is the same. Here the problem seems to be with the Sorting, you are using that right?
It's just not including the extra info.

Yes. I'm using sorting. When I turn sorting off, It names the file correctly.

What do you have set as your Sorting string?
Because it is intentional that it stips the release information if you don't include it in the Sorting string.

The TV sort string: %sn/Season %s/%sn - S%0sE%0e - %en.%ext

Thanks.

Yes, it's doing what it's supposed to do. It's only showing the episode name.
You can include the release group and info by adding extra guessit tags. See the documentation inside SABnzbd which fields are available.

I've tried playing around with the sort options as suggested, but I just cannot get this new version to name the files the way it used to (same name as the NZB).

Is there another program out there like SABNZb that will allow me to name files as needed when sorted?
