Hi,
came from NZBget on my old Synology NAS.
With NZBget is was able to download and unpack at the same time (to watch a movie while downloading).
But SABNzbd pauses my download after each single complete downloaded rar file. "Pause downloading during post-processing" is unchecked.
Unpacking pauses download?

Re: Unpacking pauses download?
Maybe you're looking for config/switches/#direct_unpack ?
Re: Unpacking pauses download?
Of course direct unpack is active
Re: Unpacking pauses download?
How old Synology?came from NZBget on my old Synology NAS.
In SABnzbd's upper right corner, click on the wrench symbol ("Status and interface options"), then click on first tab Status, and there click on the Refresh Arrow. Post the values of the lower part here.
That doesn't ring a bell. Set SAB's logging to +DEBUG, do a download, and post the logging on pastebin, with URL with spaces in it here, so pastebin . com / a8sdf098But SABNzbd pauses my download after each single complete downloaded rar file.

Re: Unpacking pauses download?
Does the download disk have a lot to do? The downloading is technically not paused, it's just SAB letting you know that it is unable to write the data as fast as it is downloading it. For some reason it has to wait up to 30 seconds to clear the buffer of downloaded data. That's very unusual. It would help if you could use different disks for the incomplete and complete directory or an SSD drive.

Your disk is a bottleneckDownload speed limited by Disk speed (1597x)
That value 2420 is extremely low. Like Raspi 1. Must be a very, very old Synology.System performance (Pystone) 2420 Linux-2.6.32.12-armv5tel-with-glibc2.15
I have a Synology DS212j (so: 2 bay system, from '12), which has about the same pystone performance: "System performance (Pystone) 2099 Linux-2.6.32.12-armv5tel-with-glibc2.15"
Re: Unpacking pauses download?
It's an old DS... i know. But with NZBget i get better download speed while unpacking.
Re: Unpacking pauses download?
I don't know why that would be. It's possible that your nice or ionice values give unrar priority over SAB and that's why it takes so long to save the new data. Another alternative is that SAB uses more RAM and the disk is also used for swap. You could try decreasing the size of article cache even more to make it save more often or increase it if you have enough RAM. Also Linux-2.6 is crazy old so maybe it doesn't work very well with the new software or maybe your CPU just isn't fast enough for SAB.
