This is actually an issue I've had for a while but I finally got annoyed enough with it to post about it.
For some reason, whenever a download fails for missing articles and is blacklisted, Sonarr won't automatically download the next available one. It knows that it's missing from the disk and that the top option is blacklisted but it won't download the next option.
I can still force it to search by clicking the search icon at the top but it's annoying to have to monitor it and make sure the next releases aren't blacklisted.
This usually happens with older episodes as newer ones are rarely blacklisted.

How did you link SABnzbd and Sonarr? Directly by using the API key or via BlackHole?
Also in the Sonarr settings > Download Client, do you have "Failed Download Handling" > "Redownload" enabled?

Try doing this
Go to Sonarr settings > Download Client, do you have "Failed Download Handling" > "Redownload"
and Enable it. Worked for me.

Can sonarr send nzb’s to sab? Try with a manual search on an episode and send any available nzb, just for testing. If not, do you see errors in sonarr’s log? In sab’s log?
Do you see it downloading in sab, but it’s not visible in sonarr (Activity > Queue)? If visible, does it have a warning icon? If yes, hover over it for more information.

Is Sab on the same machine?
Permissions?
Posts all the details maybe even screenshots. Sometimes it’s a stupid mistake so I’ll at times just go back through the setup step by step.
