It was a good speed! Would never look back at ADSL. FTTP 1GB up and down is awesome.
Only issue with this is the version currently on the synocommuinity is not compatible with DSM 7.1 and this is what my NAS updated to. My fault but hey!
Until the version is updated, I will have to deal with half speeds unless anyone has an updated version that works for DSM 7.1?

For reference, and out of curiosity:
What do you at SABnzbd -> Wrench (upper right coner) -> System Performance (Pystone) ? You probably you the clikc the Refresh circled arrow.
And, important: which python version? via Config -> Python Version.
(Reason: python 3.11 gave great speed improvements. I guess your docker sab image is using python 3.11)

Re: Slow download speeds with gigabit internet service
What do you mean it's not compatible? I run it myself in my NAS with DSM 7.1.
All DSM versions are supported.
Have you added the repository and try to install it?

Re: Slow download speeds with gigabit internet service
I will check it out again.
When my DSM updated from 6 to 7, marina db, mongo db, sonarr, radarr and sab all broke. When I removed them and tried to update, I got a message saying that these were not compatible.
I will check it out tonight when I get back and give it ago. I’d prefer to run em on DSM rather than docker.
Thanks for the message and will give it ago when I’m back later on.
I have been thinking of updating my Synology to a DS 1821+ but this issue has been holding me off and very nearly bought HP Elite mini 800 G9 to run the above said apps.

Re: Slow download speeds with gigabit internet service
So bit of an update I have attempted to instal sab and also radarr again on my synology NAS and all has installed perfectly fine. God knows why it wouldn't instal when I first installed the latest DSM update and removed all incompatible packages but I can confirm now that they are working fine.
My DSM version is: - DSM 7.1.1-42962 Update 6
When I installed sab and radarr, I had to instal python 3.11 and all worked fine with no issues. I have no idea why this refused to instal before but the only thing that I hadn't completed was a reboot of my NAS but I would expect this would have been done when the DSM updated.
My only issue now is my download speeds are only 52MB across multiple platforms connected to gigabit Lan via my gigabit internet service. I have attempted to run tests on a Windows install of SAB, DSM instal of SAB, and also a docker instal of SAB. All of the instals always come back of a maximum of 52MB. Previously I was getting on average around 82 megabytes and at one point it did hit 100 MB.
My next step is to contact newshosting to see if they have anything they can shed any light on as when I download anything on My Internet connection with it being from steam or other download sources they normally download at around 100 MBPS.
I will keep you update but thanks very much @safihre for the info leading up to me not buying this: - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/364394033273 ... Track=true
I was going to use this to run a proxmox setup with containers or sab, radarr, sonarr, home assistant and more but can carry on the way I was.

Well, newshosting support is not working at the moment so will try again another time.
Re: Slow download speeds with gigabit internet service
On your Windows PC, what do you get via https://fast.com/ ?
Re: Slow download speeds with gigabit internet service
Via speedtest.net I get 940mb down and 909mb up: - https://www.speedtest.net/result/15112839784

Re: Slow download speeds with gigabit internet service
When you update DSM it tries to run the old packages that were made for the old DSM instead of fetching new ones that were for the correct DSM version. Glad that works now!

How many connections do you use and what does the Status and Interface settings window say when you run the tests such as disk speed?

Re: Slow download speeds with gigabit internet service
like you're on a gigabit internet connection that maintains an average of 700 Mb/s, translating to an expected download speed of around 80 megabytes per second (MB/s) when using Usenet.
However, you're experiencing a discrepancy as your actual download speeds are only reaching up to 42 MB/s, and during nighttime, it drops even further to around 12 MB/s.
This situation could be influenced by various factors including network congestion, server limitations, and potential technical issues. To troubleshoot, consider checking for network congestion during peak hours, ensuring your hardware and software are optimized for high-speed downloads, and reaching out to your internet service provider for assistance in maintaining consistent and satisfactory speeds.

Re: Slow download speeds with gigabit internet service
I've been having the same problem more or less, except capped to precisely 10.5MB/s, using docker container on my unraid OS NAS. The weird thing is that literally 2 days ago on this same NAS I was getting the expected speeds of my gigabit connection of 80+ MB/s. The ONLY thing I have changed between two days ago and right now is I have installed a samsung evo SSD for cache. And i have instructed sabnzbd to download to the cache. I am going to try to switch it back to download straight to the HDD array and see if that makes a difference but that would make 0 sense.
I'm also seeing a ton of people complain about this type of issue on various forums and i have yet to find anyone figure out the problem

Re: Slow download speeds with gigabit internet service
I had a thread about this some months ago and one day, with no real changes on my side outside of a fresh install it went to the full potential of my Gigabit line and was happily pulling around 120MB/s. About 3 weeks ago it reverted back to hard capping me around 11MB/s. Wrench is showing Internet Bandwidth 6.93 MB/s 55.44 Mbps, folder speeds are good. Synology is happily reporting 1000Mbps full duplex. Have used 2 different switches, multiple cables and ran far more diagnostic steps than I care to admit including using my old NAS and Sabnzbd install which works perfectly showing my network kit is good. It's an issue in just Sabnzbd, the device and other apps are seeing and using the full network potential, I'm using the synocommunity package, so installed without a container. I'm convinced it's something in the matrix of versions, I'm on latest versions of DSM and Sabnzbd and Python. I suspected all along that the Python version is the root cause and that's my only step left to take but at this point I'm just accepting it's a bug and living with the throttled speeds. Hopefully a reinstall works for you, I got a few weeks out of it at least!
