DNS error but everything works fine

Post by herzzreh »

Code: Select all

Local IPv4 address 192.168.2.9
Public IPv4 address x.x.x.x
IPv6 address None
Nameserver / DNS Lookup Connection failed!
Hi,

Installed on Ubuntu. Machine does DNS lookups just fine. SAB downloads just fine but when I click on the wrench, it says "connection failed" for nameserver.
Am I missing some setting somewhere? As mentioned before, everything works as intended so it's just a visual nag for me but I still don't like seeing any kind of errors.

Weird. Each time? Also after you press circled-refresh-arrow?

What if you enable Debug logging? And is the ip address filled correctly?

With debug logging - no errors. Both IP addresses are correct.

I think this is because unless Debug logging is enabled, the PPA version doesn't connect to the test host due to privacy concerns.
Maybe this wasn't updated correctly for 4.2.2.

I can confirm:

with JCFP's PPA SABnzbd:
* with +Debug: DNS ok
* without +Debug: "Nameserver / DNS Lookup Connection failed!"

Not good.

Looks like that patch has neglected the web interface for a while now. On my TODO.

To clarify: everything does work as intended with the check only done when debugging is enabled in sab, only the optics are b0rked.

Yup, that's what I figured since otherwise everything is working as intended.

Should be fixed now in the ppa package of 4.2.2rc1.
