Dears
hardware
- ASUSTOR (= NAS)
- SAB (= latest version)
- speed: 1000 cable
what I tried/did
- installed OpenVPN on ASUSTOR while using "modified cert-file with other VPN-client-data" and enabled it
- forwarded the used VPN-port within my router
- started SAB and put an test-file in (6GB of size)
result
- SAB speed went down to "0" and then "crashed" while having VPN enabled on ASUSTOR
what I did next
- disbaled VPN on ASUSTOR again
- disabled Port-forwarding wihtin router
result
- restarted SAB
- SAB speed went back to normal
question
- Why that happened?
- How to get it fixed to have NAS "behind" VPN while using full internet-speed
Thanks

Re: SAB-Speed drops after introducing OpenVPN
Try switching to a lighter VPN protocol (like WireGuard) if available, or test with a different VPN provider.
