Just wondering where the name SABnzbd comes from?

SAB=?
nzbd=newzbin downloader?

We don't know exactly, it the original author's best kept secret.

SAB + nzb + daemon

We haven't a clue what SAB means.

The original developer, tdian, never actually explained the meaning of sabnzbd. But I've always assumed it to mean:
[something] automated binary nzb daemon.

I think I asked Tdian way back when, he told me but I am sworn to secrecy (lol yeah right).

I think we should have a competition to name it :)

Give away a T-shirt or something :D

A competition isn't going to work.
As soon as you have shortlist, you'll see that all domain names will have been hijacked.
If we ever get a new name, it will be decided in secrecy.

Not saying you need a new domain name, just saying it would be nice to come to a decision as to what SAB means :)

What has happened to the original author? Started off a great thing that the present authors have continued. Made my life so much easier!

tdian was always sort of distant, only showing his face to push out a new release every six-to-twelve months. He just sorta went away for good.
