sab not working

Post by Kingi »

hi i cant seem to get my sab working it did b4 but my hard drive fried now after reinstalling it gives me SABnzbd needs a free tcp/ip port for its internal web server.
Port 8082 on localhost was tried , but it is not available.
Some other software uses the port or SABnzbd is already running.

Please restart SABnzbd with a different port number.

Press Startkey+R and type the line (example):
    "C:\Program Files\SABnzbd\SABnzbd.exe" --server localhost:8083

If you get this error message again, please try a different number
ive tried opening diff ports but get the same error  when i use the sab monitor i get sab error polling did not start

There are about 65000 ports available, so you should be able to find a free one :)
Unless your software firewall is trying to fool you.
Do you use one?

Alternatively, do you use something like NOD32 Antivirus? NOD32 has a thing called "Web Access Protection", which prevents SABnzbd from opening a port. Disable this feature, reboot, and it should work.
