sabnzbd doesn't download anything any more

Post by fallback1 »

Hello everyone,

since today a got a really strange problem :  Sabnzbd simply does not download anything.

In the connection-window i got connection to my usenet-server.

Code: Select all

my.newsserver.de:119:4
   1. ⇒ [email protected]
      ⇒ T-EzE.vol01+2.par2
      ⇒ _FILENAME.nzb
   2. ⇒ [email protected]
      ⇒ T-EzE.vol01+2.par2
      ⇒ FILENAME.nzb
   3. ⇒ [email protected]
      ⇒ T-EzE.vol00+1.par2
      ⇒ _FILENAME.nzb
   4. ⇒ [email protected]
      ⇒ T-EzE.vol01+2.par2
      ⇒ _FILENAME.nzb
But still it still does not start to download. (0 KB/s).
It does also not log anything to sabnzbd.log or sabnzbd.error.log.

I added the file by moving into the queue-dir manually.

It occours with all nzb-files.
But, some of the files, aren't correctly imported.
for examples

Code: Select all

2009-10-07 12:13:21,452::ERROR::[nzbstuff] Error importing <NzbFile: filename=FILENAME, type=None>
It always worked perfectly till today.
Also other newsgrabber like hellanzbd work with these newsserver and nzbfiles.
So i don't think its up to the server?!

my specs:

Code: Select all

Version: 0.4.11
OS: Ubuntu 9.04
Install-type: linux repository
Skin (if applicable): Plush
Firewall Software: None
Are you using IPV6? no
Is the issue reproducible? yes

can you help me?
Thanks in advance.

Have you tried to restart SABnzbd?

Possibly your queue admin files are corrupted.
Try starting SABnzbd from a command prompt like this:

Code: Select all

"c:\program files\SABnzbd\sabnzbd.exe" --clean
This will erase the current queue and all the download history.

Thanks for your fast reply :)

yes, i restarted it several times.

Is there a equivalent parameter to the linux-binary?
Simply start with --clean, too?

//EDIT
jap, did it with

Code: Select all

/etc/SABnzb_link/SABnzbd.py -c

Code: Select all

grep -i fetching sabnzbd.log

You are sure that it's not the Usenet server that's having a problem?

Althoug the server admin said, that nothin was changed on the server he found a little thing.

After he fixed it, it seems to work properly.

Did you contact your server admin?

Ok here is what fixed my  Non- Download problem.

It seems that in the HISTORY queue there was a rogue file that wouldn't delete and it was calling PAR2 over and over again.

I opened up Taskmanager and kept killing the par2 process and hitting the DEL button in the history queue..eventually is cleared the PAr2 process and now SAB is downloading again at MAX speed -Yay!!!

Phew... I hate not having SAb to use.

So it would seem that SAB was locked in a PAR2 loop and whilst it was it wouldn't download.

Unfortunately this happens sometimes.
We don't have a good grip on why it happens.
After we release 0.5.0, it will be one of the focus points.
(Like queue consistency in general).

Could this happen if the user (me or anyone) deleted the download folder for that specific NZB before it finished the process?

I can't be sure that I didn't when I was transferring dloads from the specified download folder to a external hard disk.

SAB still rulez...thanks DEV's

Could be.
The usual suspects are: terminating SABnzbd brute-force and
hanging par2 and unrar programs.
We cannot prevent the first, but the latter isn't always handled properly.
I'm sure removing the download folder is not healthy either :)
