Hi,
Sorry for asking but I didn't found clear answers in Wiki & FAQ.
- As the par2 included in SABnzbd 0.5 Beta1 for OS X is not multi-core, the good setting is to leave "Extra PAR2 Parameters" blank, am I right ?
- If I replace the par2 with a multi-core version (the one included with MacPAR Deluxe), what are the possible settings ? -t- / -t0 / -t+ or is there something else ?
- Are the Nice Parameters active on OS X ? As there's no ionice on OS X, I wonder if this works with nice/renice and what are the possible settings ?
Thanks for your answers...

Re: Extra PAR2 & Nice Parameters on OS X
Par2 parameters are only for par2 ttb (multicore), which is not included with OSX app, so par2 parameters are useless.
The only parameter that works on OSX for nice is -n, try to type "man nice" in a Terminal. Since we have introduce low IO priority in 0.5.x, it's not needed anymore (in my opinion).

Re: Extra PAR2 & Nice Parameters on OS X
So the best thing is to leave both fields blanks.
Thanks a lot rAf
And why is there's no multi-core par2 on 0.5.0 ß1 OS X ?
Is it a legal reason or a technical reason ?
In other words is there any issue or speed gain replacing sabnzbd's par2 utility with a multi-core version ?

Re: Extra PAR2 & Nice Parameters on OS X
Honnestly, there are many issues with specials characters.
I've also run some benchmark tests and results was not far better than par2 classic on 10.5.
I've not rerun test on 10.6...

i have rerun it but all went in vain....
Re: Extra PAR2 & Nice Parameters on OS X
The newest MacPar deluxe has a Snow Leopard (GCD) optimized par2 binary.
I replaced the one inside the lastest sabnzbd beta and it seems to be working. I have not done any benchmark tests though, so I'm not sure if it's any faster.

Re: Extra PAR2 & Nice Parameters on OS X
How did you replace it? Which files?
I have the paid version of the new MacPar Deluxe and SAB 0.5.0 final, and am on OS X 10.6.2
Thanks

Re: Extra PAR2 & Nice Parameters on OS X
MacPar Deluxe Par2 is already included in SABnzbd 0.5.0 but only activated for 10.6+ users.
