Cleanup List not working

Post by RKM »

I've been running SABnzbd+ for several versions, auto-downloading TV episodes.

Since the beginning, the "Cleanup List" has always worked for me.  Sometime while using 0.5.2 (on top of xbmc live/ubuntu 9.11), it just stopped working.  Nothing has changed (that I'm aware of).  Later ... I had upgraded to 0.5.3RC1, but it had no effect.

Is there a setting somewhere that might be conflicting with this, or some other reason it might not be working?  The contents of the field are:

            .nzb, .sfv, .srr, .nfo

Another strange item seems to have accompanied this.  About the same time this happened, I started having another problem I've read about with other sabnzbd+ users in the past: where a show, when extracting, pauses the system.  For example, I'll be watching a SD movie (average 3-4% CPU on the system with NVidia 220 video and 3.2 Ghz Intel CPU) -- and when a download finishes/sabnzbd goes to "post-process", the system locks up and the video stops playing.

I've read abut this problem in the past, and I remember that by upgrading to v0.5.0 it fixed the problem for someone here.  Unfortunately the upgrade did not fix mine.

Any suggestions for either of these issues?

Thank you in advance,
RKM

Use the right board. The developers seldom read the "General Discussion".

I doubt if there's anything wrong the the cleanup filter, but I'll have look sometime.
BTW: you don't need to add the dots (so "nzb, sfv" will work too, withouy the quotes).

Post processing is dominated by par2 and unrar processing.
These processes are very disk intensive and this can explain your issues.
Having a busy disk is even worse than a busy CPU because often the
disk isn't scheduled fairly between processes.
You'll have to experiment with the "nice" and "ionice" settings in Config->Switches.
Don't forget to read the Help page.

The clean-up function still works.
However, take note that it is run BEFORE unpacking is done.
So, if there are any cleanable files unpacked, they will not be removed.
