Response Time

Post by cablenut »

Hi everyone, installed SABNZB and very happy with it.

I have a fast internet connection so I followed the Wiki to change the settings for high speed and also modified the refresh rate to 0 on the skin.

However I have noticed the web interface is slow to update on the progress of the download and the speed of the download.

I run a separate bandwidth monitoring program that monitors my NIC card and that is reporting nearly 4 times the speed SABNZB is reporting.

It is also slow to update the progress of a download and often it will be finished but take a couple of seconds to catchup.

I have seen this behaviour both a on windows and linux box and from directly on the machine itself to browsing it on the lan.

Are there any tweaks to deal with this that are not contained in the wiki?

SABnzbd has a web interface.
Since refreshing data on such in interface represent a load on SABnzbd,
we update actual data relatively slowly.
All three skins have their own refresh rates.
Be careful not to set the frequency too high, since this will have a bad effect
on your download speed.

SABnzbd's primary purpose is to run in the background and do all of
the download chores automatically.

If you want to babysit your downloads, there are other programs that support this better.

Thanks for the help and quick response!

I have set the refresh period to 8 and reinstalled the latest version and it seems to be much improved.

Thanks again for everything....
