Just added an issue on the github page regarding automatic Downloading of subtitles:
http://github.com/RuudBurger/CouchPotat ... s/issue/77

Automatically download of corresponding subtitles would be great.

I am following a similiar request on SickBeard, and this turned up: http://code.google.com/p/periscope/
It's a Python module made for integration with applications, for downloading of subtitles. The great thing is that this means most of the code is already made and developers only have to worry about integration with their application.

This would be an awesome addition for CouchPotato, since currently it's not quite "Couchy" enough when I have to turn on the computer and download subtitles :-)

Things to consider:
Ability to download different languages.
Cleanup subtitles for older release (R5, DVDrip, 720p etc) when new releases are downloaded.
I often find that when downloading a 1080p release, subtitles on ie. Subscene that is for the 720p release also works. Perhaps if no subtitles can be found for the 1080p release CouchPotato could keep the 720p-file and rename it so it would show up with a name/tag like ".english (720p).srt" - this way users have to option of choosing.

Another possibility is (for people who are absolutely subtitle crazy) is to first search for subtitles and then only download a release, where a matching subtitle can be found.

I hope this can get added, since this would be completely awesome.

Yeah I was just about to post a request for subtitle downloading. That would be absolutely awesome.

Now I use the Opensubtitles OSD script inside XBMC or Coxee. But since I don't know the original filename, it can be troublesome. CouchPotate knows the filename, so that makes subtitle finding much easier.

P.S: I don't think there should be an option to only download a movie if a subtitle is available. I think it would be better if it would continue to search for subtitles, even after the movie has finished downloading (I can imagine subtitles take some time to appear online after the movie has been made available).

If you are command line savvy, here are the steps.
- If possible install macports, makes installing all the other stuff quite easy.
- Make sure you have python & cheetah installed on your mac.
- Install git
http://help.github.com/mac-git-installation/
- Clone a copy of the SickBeard source into the directory where you want to run SickBeard out of.
- Start up SickBeard by invoking it in the command line as follows
$ python ./SickBeard.py

I am not sure whether there is a compiled dmg available, but these were the steps I followed in my setup.

Hi RuudBurger,
Thanks for this great app!
First, Is there a way to select movies sources?
I would like CP to download only 720p BDRips and not from TC or any other sources.
Second, I would to have the option to download multiple formats (720p and SD BDRips) but when I'm adding the same movie again with it replaces the previous entry.

@ Kobik , make a custom quality .... you can add more source then.
Remember , the BEST Quality goes on top !! , and it will eep searching till that one is found and replace the lower quality.

Hi rascalli, thanks for the reply.
Problem is like I asked in SickBeard thread that I want both versions.
So the only way to do that is by letting me adding the same movie multiple times.

Or you can have 2 versions of Couchpotato running, 1 for SD one for HD.

Little question , can you please explain why you want both versions ?
As you can never watch them both at teh same time ;-)

I don't want to overload my PC with just another and another service.
SabNZBd takes aroung 60MB, CP takes 28MB and SickBeard takes another 9MB.
Running another process of CP is just an overkill.

I'm interested in both versions because when watching @ home I can play MKV while when on the roads, I can only watch DIVX.

BTW, IMO there should be two filters.
One for the resolution (SD, 720p, 1080p) and for the source (TS, TC, DVDRIP, you get this...)
I for example not interested in TC although it has a resolution of 720p.
My 2 cents.

Was just about to post the same thing. I want 720p only if (and ONLY if) the source is BluRay or HDDVD. :)

The "720p TC" is a bug and will be fixed.

Could you post a github issue for the FF4 Beta?
