Maybe SAB has a 'feature' where SAB tries to unpack even without proper repair, if SAB has downloaded all PARs?
Thats my conclusion....
But why?
I had SAB running all the time without interruptions/restarts etc.

It does so by default.
However, there is an option called "Safe post processing" in Config->Switches, which will prevent this.
