RSS and scheduler

Post by A_T »

I am using the RSS feed from nzbindex.nl and version 0.6.9.

My ISP has unlimited download from 12am to 8am so I schedule my downloads then - and also schedule an RSS feed read at 6am to pick up my latest TV shows. The feeds are given the priority "high" on the basis they will go to the top of the queue ahead of any existing downloads.

In the morning I find that the feeds have been read but no nzbs added to the queue - they are still sitting in the RSS tab with a "Download" button next to them.

Clearly I am doing something wrong. What do I need to do to add them to the queue?

Are they under the "Matched" header?
Are they marked with an asterisk (*) ?
Is the feed "enabled" for automatic scan? (Checkbox ticked).

Hi. Answer is "yes" to all three.

Your answer to question two means that these jobs belong to the first batch read from a new RSS feed.
To prevent automatic download of a large backlog from a new feed, this first batch
is not downloaded automatically.
Any subsequent automatic scans should download any matching new items.
Also any new items seen by a manual scan will not be downloaded by the next automatic scan.

Depends on what you want to do.
Once you have properly setup an automatic feed, it should run unattended.

RSS Checking: "Not active when you use the Scheduler!"

No RSS checking so no adding to the queue and no download. Looks like RSS check and download simply doesn not operate when the scheduler is on.

You can choose between multiple read-outs based on the interval
and a specifically planned readout in the Scheduler.
Both have exactly the same way working.
The automatic scan is "defeated" by manual read-outs.
But should you need to do one anyway, just click "Force download" also.

I still can't download anything through RSS when I use the scheduler. I go to bed leaving SAB on pause - scheduling a resume at 0.00 and pause at 08.00. It reads the feeds between those hours but then the results of the feed read sits under the RSS tab with the download button next to them.

How do I get them to be added to the queue and download?

Don't know if this is obsolete, but have you tried adding '&dl=1' to the rss URL? NZBIndex doesn't include this by default and it always used to be required. I still include it and I use the scheduler (successfully) in the same way, and for the same reason, you describe.
