Hi Guys,
i am a former ninan user and wanted to try out sabnzbd. However, I canot get sabnzbd working. I use giganews accelerator to run in the background so all i have to do for server config ist localhost, 119 port, and giganews login credentials. the rest (such as SSL) would be handled by giganews accelerator. This worked on ninan but apparently this config does not work with sabnzbd. when attempting to download a file from newzbin by using a certain newzbin id i get 20 warnings which all look like that:
2008-09-11 11:29:29,234 WARNING [downloader] Thread 1@localhost:119: timed out
can somebody help me here please? its frustrating.
thanks and regards,
k

Re: Connection Problems
Have you tried without the accelerator? SABnzbd does support SSL!
Just use port 443 and check the SSL box.
I have never used the accelerator myself, so I will try tonight.
People have reported that it works.

Re: Connection Problems
What operating system are you on? Try using 127.0.0.1 instead of localhost in config>servers
Re: Connection Problems
now thats funny,
i just replaced localhost with 127.0.0.1 et voilá it is working. is it s bug or ain't localhost the same as 127.0.0.1?
either way, downloading works now and giganews handles the rest (ssl etc.). thanks for the advice...

Re: Connection Problems
localhost does not always translate to 127.0.0.1. On vista it means ::1 which is the ipv6 address of localhost.
Re: Connection Problems
yupp, i got vista. thanks again for helping me fix this
