I know that it is unlikely but does anyone know of an equivalent program for windows ?

Alas, Windows lacks the basic facility for this, so people cannot make such a utility.

Vista does have some disk prioritizing features, but I'm not familiar with the details.

Yeah, i thought so, cheers for the info shypike.

A document about vista i/o prioritizing for any who are interested. Written by Mark Russinovich of sysinternals fame. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/maga ... 62494.aspx. Unfortunately it doesn't look like its available in a user accessible way.
