Take a look at this? Weird.
I have very fast internet speed as you can see, I took this speedtest during the same exact time I was trying to download a simple 2GB file. There are times where my downloads complete in 1 minute or 2.... and there are times when it FAILS (Look at the Red Arrow above) why so slow?
I have GigaNews Diamond - Unlimited UseNet with 50 Connections.
1522 days retention if it matters.
iMac running OS X 10.8.2 with SABnzbd+ version 0.7.4
Any ideas?

"fails" as in "SAB can not download it all, and gives an error afterwards, and that happens quite *fast*"? If so: the post is not available anymore more on the server. Could be retention, or DMCA.
And then it only *looks* slow because: 1) the number of bytes downloaded is low, 2) SAB calculates the remaining time base on remaining-bytes / current-download-speed, resulting in a *high* number.
In practice, SAB will only work 2 minutes or so on such a download, and then report it failed.
